We are a Not-For-Profit organization. Although located inside Trinity UMC & are a mission of the church, Riverview is a separate entity. We maintain affordable fees through donations, grant seeking, fundraising, and volunteerism.
Riverview Adult Day Center in Elkhart is celebrating 25 years of providing affordable day services that enhance the self-esteem, health and independence of their clients while providing a needed respite for their caregivers. Participants are adults who may need some help in self care, require supervision or are just lonely at home alone. The professional team is instructed on the unique history of each client and helps develop individualized care plans that include continuous health monitoring.
The staff strives to promote each client's cognitive functioning with structured programming in a caring cheerful atmosphere. The programming includes arts and crafts, exercise, board and card games, intergenerational activities, creative movement and music, pet visits, entertainment and educational programs from outside sources, trips to restaurants, etc. The clients have the opportunity to share their life stories while making new friends.
Riverview is a less expensive alternative to having care in their home and may postpone the trauma and expense of an unnecessary nursing home placement. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Clients can schedule to come every day all day or just for 5 hours any day and may schedule to come and go any time during the day.
